A Corpus Christi, Texas native, Casilda (Casi) Clarich is a first-generation college graduate, and the first female in her family to obtain a post-secondary education. With a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, an Executive MBA from Baylor University, and in the Doctoral Program for Executives in Higher Education at the University of Texas at Austin, Casi believes that education is the great equalizer.
With over 30 years of experience in both the private and public sector, Casilda (Casi) Clarich's professional career began in the private sector, where she worked for two Fortune 500 Companies followed by working in state government and higher education. Following her passion for higher education, today Casilda (Casi) Clarich is a Director of two Centers of Excellence at the University of Texas System in Austin, Texas. The University of Texas System is a $20 billion global entity focusing on higher education for 13 institutions across the state of Texas: eight higher educational institutions (including the University of Texas at Austin) and five health institutions (including Dell Medical School). Being a lifelong champion for the community, Casilda (Casi) Clarich has served on various public service boards and advisory panels over her professional years of service.
Her love of entrepreneurship ignited her to be the Founder and CEO of Your Smart Closet, Inc., a fashion on-line exchange company. A lifelong community advocate, she has steadfastly served her community in various capacities throughout her professional career and personal life, serving as an Ambassador to the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, President/Chair of the Texas Exes Hispanic Alumni Network, and also serves on various boards and advisory panels. She was recently awarded the Guillermo Calderon Award from her peers at the Hispanic Austin Leadership Class of 2017, the signature leadership initiative of GAHCC.
Casi works with the highest of integrity, maintaining professionalism throughout her interactions with an approach of collaboration and team building.
She states her greatest accomplishment has been ensuring her three children obtained a college education: Christopher, (UTSA); Alexander, (Texas State University) and Cristina, (University of Texas at Austin).
